DBT Workshop on Genome Engineering, 2018
We organized a workshop on genome engineering in joint collaboration with Prof. D.N. Rao of IISc, Bangalore and Prof. Srinivasan Chandrasegran of John Hopkins University funded by Department of Biotechnology, India, from 24th June to 29th June. The workshop aimed to give a theoretical and practical experience for cutting edge Gene editing technology.
Symposium on Hemoglobinopathies, Clinical Insights and Basic Science, 2018
The aim of the meeting was to discuss new developments in scientific and clinical advances to counter hemoglobinopathies, including the mechanisms for new therapeutic targets, curative therapies like gene therapy and genome editing approaches. The meeting also enabled close interactions between clinicians and scientists working in the area towards creating collaborative translational efforts in the area of hemoglobinopathies.
CRISPR-Cas9 Workshop 2017
At the workshop, participants were provided with a hands-on training on how to use this technology for precise manipulation of their own targets starting from design to experimentation and subsequent analysis. The workshop began with a day of lectures on gene editing by eminent scientists followed by 3 days of intense training.
